REGIONAL
Each country is divided into different parts, which is another geographical impact of digital divide. For instance, In Sultanate of Oman, there is an obvious gap between urban and rural parts in terms of quality of information and communication technology. The southern part of Sultanate of Oman that is close to the mountains of Dhofar does not have the basic information and communication technology infrastructure. Therefore, it has lower Internet access in comparison to Muscat, which is the capital and largest metropolitan city of Sultanate of Oman. As a result, this lack of Internet access is not caused by lack of money, but because of the location. Moreover, by being closer to mountainous lands, it becomes more difficult to get some technologies such as Wi-Fi to the people who live close to these areas because it requires great amounts of planning and funding. This is a regional digital divide since, in the Middle East, some countries are closer to mountain lands, some are very developed and full of buildings and some are mostly deserts so some countries will have better access to internet and technology than others.
