One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) is a non-profit organization that aims to bridge the gap between children who can afford to purchase laptops and children that can’t. If you recall, one of the economical factors is the lack of money to purchase technology, so One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) have designed a special laptop for poor children with unique softwares. This is very beneficial for poor children since they can entertain themselves by playing online games, or connect with other children across the globe, or use the laptop for educational purposes and so on. Although delivering laptops to children in poor and rural areas helps them connect and be up to date with the world around them, providing children with laptops can be a huge health risk since sitting for continuous hours in front of the laptop can cause back and neck pain, headaches and repetitive strain injury. Also, by providing them with laptops we are exposing them to inappropriate content and cybercrime.
