Personal Impact
Fingerprint recognition also has drawbacks like, the reading of the Fingerprint scanner may be unable to read because the person’s fingertip has dirt on it or his finger is twisted during the Fingerprinting process. Also, it is possible for fingerprints to become damaged to the point where they are not useful for identification. Injuries, burns or deliberate injury to the fingertips can all cause a person's fingerprints to become different, unreadable or even eliminated.
The fingerprint system can be expensive to implement. In addition, fingerprint scanner needs computer hardware and software (system & application). As a result, many companies or companies will not implement it.
Another disadvantage is that the fingerprint scanner software reads only one sections of someone’s finger that is susceptible to error. Sometimes, an employee has not placed their Fingertip in the right spot or placed the left finger instead of the right finger and vice versa. As a result, the fingerprint scanner falsely rejects the employees fingerprint. Consequently, the person has to reposition his fingertip to get the right reading so this can be time-consuming.
