Downside of Cloud applications
Cloud applications have hidden extra costs. Cloud applications might seem chapter, but actually they have a limit for the license you pay. For example, you pay for Google docs pro version but your license expresses after a year. This means you have to purchase the license annually.
Cloud applications rely on internet connection. If the internet is down you cannot work on your documents. Offline access has temporarily been taken away from Google Docs as of May 3, 2010
As a web based application, Google Docs is accessed through the Web browser. Some web browsers may not support this application.
Cloud applications are a big security threat since your work is subjected to hackers. Hackers can cause harm to your work or your device by manipulating your files in the cloud application, or deleting your files in the cloud application or using sensitive information in your files in the cloud application for their own benefit.
