How has the digital divide affected countries’ economies? Tempting question, isn’t it! Well, the answer is that, because some countries can access technology and others can’t, the economy of developed countries with access to technology experience a boom. The United Nations divide countries into two main categories that are developed countries and developing countries. Countries are categorized based on their economic status like GDP (Gross domestic product), GNP (Gross national product). Developed Countries provides free healthcare and secured atmosphere to live but the countries, which lack the same services, is known as Developing Countries. Developing countries that suffer from economic problems do not have the information and communication technology infrastructure as developed countries. Therefore, developing countries cannot provide high-speed internet access. Consequently, People living in developed countries benefit from high-speed internet access that enables them to do many tasks online including:
- Banking online
- Shopping online
- Participating in online auctions
- Paying for services
