Is video conferencing fulfilling its purpose?
Video conferencing’s purpose is to allow its users to connect with people all around the world face to face with out the need to travel. So, is this what video conferencing is used for in the information age? I would say yes, video conferencing helped businesses conduct conferences, interviews and meetings with other businesses from various regions of the world. Also, it has provided businesses with strong communication between employees even if the business operates internationally.
Not only that, video conferencing also provides businesses with features that may be time consuming/expensive to achieve physically. As an example, employees of the same business from different branches can share documents between each other while video conferencing. However, if the employees conduct a physical conference, they will have to pay for transport, book a hall, offer drinks and mini sandwiches and so on, which will make the process money and time consuming. With all that said, video conferencing has served its purpose.
